TABOGA ISLAND,
NOVEMBER 2009
Together with Los Angeles de los Animales and the residents
of Taboga, especially Jesus and Susan; Spay/Panama sterilized, dewormed
and vaccinated 127 animals (39 dogs and 88 cats).
This is the boat that
transported 5 operation tables, 5 surgical lamps, autoclave, anesthesia
machine, scale, 15 cat traps, 40 spay packs, medical and surgical
supplies, water, sodas and 5 staff members to Taboga
The five went on top of the cargo.
The boat belongs to the Honorable Representante Marcos Delgado. The fuel was donated by the residents of Taboga
Taboga Island is very pretty

It rained cats and dogs
Flyers and banners were posted throughout the island
Preparation
We had 20 young trappers that worked diligently. Almost all
the cats operated were trapped. Four were brought to Panama City
for adoption, the rest were released in the same area where they were
trapped and one was put down because it was very sick.
We need your help to improve the
quality of lives of the animals and the guardians. The young
generation has to be educated on responsible ownership of animals.During
the operations, $176.10 was collected or the equivalent of $1.39 per
animal. Jesus got some funds donated to pay for the fuel to
transport the equipment and $30 to apply towards the $84 spent to
transport the staff.
Through Los Angeles de los Animales, we got some cotton, 1 box of syringes, 1 box of gloves, 2 Q-tips, and other items donated
It costs Spay/Panama $18.80 to operate a dog and $9.60 to operate a cat.
This does not include the cost of mobilizing the staff and surgery equipment to the offsite location.
Please consider donating the
cost of a dinner...get your family and friends to join you and remember
always that together we can make a difference. Click here to find out how you can help the cause by making a donation
