SAN MIGUELITO AND THE HEALTH MINISTRY43
dogs and 14 cats were sterilized, dewormed, vaccinated, had their ears
cleaned, sprayed against fleas and ticks and given an injection of
vitamins on September 13 2009 at the Nuevo Progreso SchoolThis
social service represents a savings to the community of San Miguelito
of approximately $5,000.00 because a spay may cost over $100.00 in a
private clinic. It should be noted that the guardians/rescuers of
the animals treated are all low-income individuals and can not go
to a private clinic. The social service has a higher value
if we consider that a female dog and her off springs can be the source
of 67,000 puppies in six years.
The sterilization campaign was organized by the Health Ministry, through Dr. Nadje Segundo and Dr. Centella.Participating vets: Dr. René Guajardo, Dr. Gloria Fonseca, Dr. Itzel
Terrero, and Dr. Letty de Guajardo. Assistantss: Los Angeles de los
