MOBILE SPAY
The
Health Ministry modified a trailer to be used as a veterinary
mobile clinic and Spay/Panama was honored to be the first to use
it. The unit was moved from Corozal to the 24 de Diciembre on
February 8, 2009 for a sterilization blitz.
The unit has two rooms and a bathroom. Two vets operated in each room.
Spay/Panama
team worked with the staff of the Health Ministry. 47
animals were sterilized, dewormed, vaccinated, ears cleaned, sprayed
against fleas and ticks, and given an injection of vitamins. A
total of $22.70 was collected, or $0.48 per animal. We
desperately need your help to reach more animals.
Very
soon Spay/Panama will have its own mobile spay/neuter unit, which has
been donated by Dr. Isis Johnson-Brown. In the above picture we
have Dr. Letty and Dr. Isis.
