EL VALLECITO DE LAS CUMBRES

When the Health Ministry asks us to work with them in health fairs by offering low cost spay/neuters, we had planned in doing 500 spay/neuters.  We still miss two to go and we are up to 499 spay/neuters.

On March 21, 2010, 84 dogs and 5 cats were sterilized, had their ears cleaned, dewormed, vaccinated against rabies, injected with vitamins and sprayed for fleas and ticks.

El Vallecito was truly a M*A*S*H* operation...literally under a tent

Lester Tapia and Jose Hernan Perez, senior vet students from Nicaragua were here for a one-week intensive training in the Quick Spay method

People brought their animals from far away

It was a very hot day and this dog decided to wait under the tent

This lady came with her four dogs without leash.  One whistle and they were all in line to be weigh

This little dog decided to take a nap before she was called.  She will have a healthier life and will not reproduce.   A total of $7.61 was collected or the equivalent of 9 cents per animal.  Help us reach more animals by clicking
